Gear packed and leaving soon, kinda of the unusual year doing both WRABF and IPRF worlds less than a month apart.

Crazy fact for BR crowd to see the precision levels demanded from guns and shooters in precision rifle Worlds ,5 stages of 18 have something like 30+ targets that are shot at 50 yards and are sized like 8 ring on WRABF 50m target and there is no bench ,flags or support ,just mag feed repeater and barricades and 90 seconds for 10+ shots per stage.
In general, targets range from 45 to 200m , but 130-140m seems to the most common distance

Looks like we had 7 rifles make it over to the world finals. Paul Dallin tied for 1st place with one of our rifles, Katelin Estes placed 4th in
JR. It's nice to see hard work and ideas pay off. In 2017 there were just a handful of us shooting PRS with rimfire and now World Championships. A special Thanks to Paul Tolvstad for making an outstanding product.

The one that surprised me the most was SK Long Range being the most popular by such a large margin. Very cool.
As a single ammo type ,most of the competitors i have seen ran premium ammo like Lapua,Eley,RWS , but indeed SK long range match was some of the most commonly seen ,the questionnaire was not filled out by everyone so some data points are missing i have definitely seen more than 1 guy run with Lapua X-act

Thank you for the info on this. Very interesting for sure. I don't compete but just plink around...I was surprised to see the 457 being the most popular gun/action.
Would be interesting to see how that broke down as a function of place/final results.

I think in Open category top 3 were Bergara, Voodoo and Voodoo , Modacam custom smithed rifles taking 2 of the 3 spots
But there were stock 457 in top 10 , i know as i bought the Warrior Gen7 chassis of the tenth place South African that ran a stock 457 barreled action.

From what i remember in top 5 overall there were 2-3 factory Anschutz rifles ,and in top 20 overall there were something like 8+ factory rifles

All in all i consider optics more than the rifles were the important component. Top 10 were near all running 3500+$ optics
Great optics enable you to spot your bullets in flight much more often so wind calls are much better.

What stock 457s were in the top 10?

Fascinating how much the optics made a difference. Do you think $3500 is a key point or do you think a slightly lower cost optic would still be capable enough to spot the bullet flights?
